Callout is built by a small crew of locals in Whakatū Nelson. Every town gets its own board eventually — ours goes up first, because we live here and a board has to be proven somewhere real.
Every business in Nelson is findable — almost none are bookable. Callout is the board that fixes that: businesses pin up what they do, and anyone at callout.nz/ask finds them and sends the job through. The business confirms by text — nobody's booked without a real human tapping yes. AI assistants can book through the board too; that's one more door into the same place, not a different place.
How the money works
Listing is free. The paid tier — being bookable — costs nothing until your first confirmed job comes through. If that never happens, you never pay a dollar. No per-lead fees, no commission: the customer pays you directly, and Callout never touches the job money. No lock-in, cancel any time.
Checked, not just listed
Licence numbers get checked against the public registers — EWRB for sparkies, PGDB for plumbers, gasfitters and drainlayers, LBP for builders — before a Verified badge goes up. Every listing is looked over by a person before it shows publicly. And every review is tied to a confirmed job that really happened through the network — no anonymous drive-bys, no competitors with grudges.
