Who you're dealing with

What Callout is

Callout is a directory and booking layer that connects people who need a local trade or service with independent businesses who list themselves on our network — either directly through the site, or via an AI assistant that supports it. Callout is not the business doing the work. Every business on Callout is independent, sets its own prices, and is responsible for the quality, safety, and completion of any job.

Using Callout as a customer

Searching and requesting a job is free, and doesn't require an account. When you submit a request, it goes to the specific business you chose — they decide whether to accept it, and they set the actual price. A request is not confirmed until the business confirms it. If a business declines or doesn't respond in time, Callout may offer the same request to another listed business — unless you asked for that business only — and you're told by text whenever that happens. Callout doesn't guarantee a business will respond, accept your job, or complete it to any particular standard — any dispute about a job itself is between you and that business.

Listing a business

You're responsible for the accuracy of everything you list — services, prices, hours, and contact details. The free tier makes your business discoverable; the Bookable tier (a paid monthly subscription, billed via Stripe) lets AI assistants and customers actually send you booking and quote requests. You can cancel anytime through the billing portal in your dashboard — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We may remove a listing that provides false information, is used for spam, or is abusive toward customers or other businesses.

No liability for the work itself

Callout provides the platform "as is." We're not a party to any job, quote, or contract between a customer and a business, and we're not liable for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any work arranged through Callout.

Launch pricing

Businesses that save a card for the Bookable tier before 1 November 2026 pay the launch price of NZ$49/month for their first 12 months of billing, after which the standard rate (currently NZ$79/month) applies. Nobody on any tier is charged until their first confirmed job comes through Callout.

Changes

We may update these terms as Callout grows. Meaningful changes will update the date at the top of this page. The launch-price commitment above — NZ$49/month for a launch member's first 12 months — survives any such change.
